A Global Arts Destination on Campus: Realizing the Vision of Artist Ellsworth Kelly at the Blanton

Blanton director Simone Wicha and deputy director of curatorial affairs Carter Foster will share an inside look at the process of realizing artist Ellsworth Kelly’s monumental work of art, Austin. Their talk will include visuals and behind the scenes stories that make this project come to life for Longhorns attending The Texas Edge. Kelly is one of the greatest artists of all time and this project will forever transform the landscape of campus and the city of Austin, benefiting generations of students and visitors to come.

The Butler School of Music: The World is Listening

University Distinguished Professor and Butler School faculty member Dr. Robert Duke will share the global impact Butler School of Music students are making through research, performance, outreach, and creative innovation. Matthew Gillen, DMA candidate in guitar, will perform selections from composer Mario Castlenuovo-Tedesco and describe his journey to The University of Texas at Austin.
