Building Safer Universities: Finding the Truth about Campus Sexual Assault

Noël Busch-Armendariz

With projected numbers as high as one in five affected college women each year, campus sexual assault has rightly been a focus of national debate. At the direction of President Gregory Fenves and Chancellor William McRaven, the School of Social Work’s Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault is leading a $1.7 million multi-year study to find out what is really happening at UT Austin and other UT System campuses and take steps to ensure the safety of all 217,000 students. Learn more about this study, the only one of its kind in the nation, and how outcomes will make campuses safer in Texas and hopefully across the nation.
